Q What does the name "ABORA" mean?
«ABORA» is the supreme divinity of the Canaries Islands.
Q Who is the director of "ABORA" ?
A «ABORA» is directed by Marco Reardon, multidisciplinary artist: webmaster, photographer, search engine optimization expert.
Q Since when does "ABORA" exist?
A 1969.
Q What kind of a presence do you have on the web?
A We have a website dedicated to web design for small and medium businesses (www.abora-web.com) and a site about advertising photography (www.abora.qc.ca).
ADVERTISING PHOTOGRAPHY
Q Will I be able to use the photographs you took for my website in my other advertising campaigns (newspapers, t.v., pamphlets...?)
A Yes, you will be the owner of those photographs and you can use them at will.
Q Aren't web photos generally in very low resolution?
A When we do a shooting of products, people, installations, etc. for a website, we shoot in high resolution so the pictures can be used for different purposes other than a website. On the other side, they are optimized for the web in specialized softwares so the loading time of the web pages is kept to a minimum.
THE PORTRAIT
Q I plan going to "ABORA" for a portrait shooting; how do I prepare prior to getting to the studio?
A It is recommended to rest the days before the shooting. Tension, stress, nervousness all show on a portrait.
Q How long does a studio shoot take?
A Depending on the package deal you have chosen, calculate 1 to 2 hours as an average.
Q Do you retouch all the portraits?
A You will choose one picture from the contact sheet and it is this one we will retouch in different photo optimization softwares. Additional fees apply if you choose many portraits to be retouched.
Q I have a few blemishes and wrinkles; will you make them disappear?
A We use very sophisticated photo retouching softwares that take away most of physical imperfections. We analyse skin grain, texture, reflectiveness, color. We can whiten eyes and teeth, brighten a slightly sad face, even enlarge the eyes!
Q Once the studio shooting finished, can I go home with all the photos taken during the shoot?
A Yes, we will burn to CD all the pictures taken during the shoot plus the retouched one(s).
Q And if I want enlargements?
A You leave with the CD of all the studio shots and you have them enlarged at the place of your choice where they print digital photos. This way, you save as much as 80% on enlargements.
THE CREATION OF A SITE
Q If I choose one of the 5,000 pre-designed templates that "ABORA" offers, what parameters can you modify so the site resembles my business look?
A We can include all your texts with their titles, your logo, your address, phone number, E-mail, photos, videos extracts, sound, music, mp3's, and the number of pages you need.
Q How long does it take to see my site on the web?
A For a few pages site, count 2 to 3 weeks in all.
Q What is the cost of a website?
A This depends on the size of the site and on the complexity of the design you opt for. We will establish a price once we have evaluated the importance of your project.
Q Once my site published to the internet, is it possible to modify it?
A Yes, all visual elements of your site can be modified; you can add at will pages, photos, forms, online selling with buying cart, etc.
Q My future site contains many dozens of photos; how can they be presented?
A You can opt for a slide show gallery that can adopt the look of your site with its color scheme and design.
Q What is the minimum of pages for a website?
A If you want to be well positioned in the search engine results, you must evitate 2 to 3 page sites. As a rule, we recommend 5 to 8 pages for a small site.

Q Someone built my site last year and I can't find it in the search results. Why?
A A site that hasn't been optimized will be hard to find on the net. To come correctly in the search engines results, a site must be optimized by a specialist who understands in dept the different algorithms of Google, Yahoo!, msn, Lycos and all the other search engines. Because many millions of pages come out of a single search word, it is important that the optimization process be well done and in a professional manner.
Q Can a small site come out in the top results in Google?
A Yes, if the SEO is done by someone highly specialized in optimization like we are at "ABORA'S"
Q Is the cost of search engine optimization included in the design of a site?
A No. As those are two different operations, they are billed separately. Also, the client decides if he wants SEO or not for his site.
Q Can I have my site built now and have it optimized later?
A Yes.
Q Can "ABORA" optimize a site that was built elsewhere?
A Yes, we do it often.
Q Once optimized, when will my site be visible on Google?
A Usually, allow 2 to 6 months to see it ranked on Google. A site has to be optimised slowly, as to avoid Google's "sandbox" penalty.

A Non, our client's sites are hosted on different professional servers.
